PD32 Cost-Utility Of Selective Internal Radiation Therapy Using Y-90 Resin Microspheres For Chemotherapy-Refractory Metastatic Colorectal Cancer In Brazil
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction There were an estimated 55,102 new cases of colorectal cancer (CRC) in Brazil 2020, comprising 9.3 percent all newly diagnosed cancers, and making it the third most common Brazilian population. Up to half patients with CRC will develop liver metastases, prognosis for these is poor. The objective present analysis was evaluate cost-utility selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) using Y-90 resin microspheres versus best supportive care (BSC) unresectable, liver-dominant, chemotherapy-refractory metastatic (mCRC). Methods A three-state partitioned survival model developed Microsoft Excel SIRT BSC. Membership three states pre-progression, post-progression death governed by parametric models Kaplan-Meier data from a retrospective, interventional study. Costs associated microspheres, BSC, adverse events obtained sources reported 2021 United States dollars (USD). Future costs effects discounted at 5 percent. One-way probabilistic sensitivity analyses (PSA) performed. willingness-to-pay threshold USD 53,936 used based on 2017 review healthcare technology adoption. Liver Metastases in Pancreatic Acinar Cell Carcinoma Treated with Selective Internal Radiation Therapy with Y-90 Resin Microspheres
Background Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a rare tumor. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice when feasible, but there are no clear recommendations for patients with advanced disease. Liver-directed therapy with Y-90 selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) has been used to treat hepatic metastases from pancreatic tumors. We describe a case of PACC liver metastases treate...
متن کاملOutcomes and Predictors of Toxicity after Selective Internal Radiation Therapy Using Yttrium-90 Resin Microspheres for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma
PURPOSE We sought to report outcomes and toxicity in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who received resin yttrium-90 selective internal radiation therapy ((90)Y-SIRT) and to identify factors associated with declining liver function. METHODS Patients treated with (90)Y-SIRT were retrospectively evaluated. Radiographic response was assessed using RECIST 1.1. Median liver progression-...
متن کاملThe effect of selective internal radiation therapy with yttrium-90 resin microspheres on lung carbon monoxide diffusion capacity
BACKGROUND Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) with embolization of branches of the hepatic artery is a valuable therapeutic tool for patients with hepatic malignancies; however, it is also associated with lung injury risk due to shunting. Diffusion capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (DLCO) is a clinically significant lung function test, and worsening in DLCO is suggested to refl...
متن کاملYttrium-90 microsphere selective internal radiation therapy for liver metastases following systemic chemotherapy and surgical resection for metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma
Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy with generally poor outcomes and limited treatment options. While surgical resection can be curative for early local disease, most patients present with advanced ACC owing to nonspecific symptoms. For those patients, treatment options include systemic chemotherapy and locoregional therapies including radiofrequency ablation and transarterial c...
متن کاملSelective intraarterial radionuclide therapy with Yttrium-90 (Y-90) microspheres for unresectable primary and metastatic liver tumors
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the success of selective intraarterial radionuclide therapy (SIRT) with Yttrium-90 (Y-90) microspheres in liver metastases of different tumors. We also interpreted the contribution of SIRT to survival times according to responder- non responder and hepatic- extra hepatic disease. METHODS The clinical and follow-up data of 124 patients who were ...
